Great interactions with rural innovators in Satpura region*

Hello. Recently I had an opportunity to meet people in Satpura and Melghat region for one project. These villages have treacherous and mountainous terrain and they are near the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The purpose of my visit was to document the work of young activists. To document how they firstly developed their farming, how they are facilitating development of their villages and nearby villages. Very inspiring meetings these were!  *Although not highlighted, a lot of good work takes place in society!* With technical guidance and expert advice, how local youth thrive, how they empower themselves and then how they help others on the same path was worth experiencing.

Along with that, I could see happy and energetic people who do not have the least facilities and plenty of drudgery. Still they are cheerful. In a way, it was a glimpse of incredible India! How rural development works are done, by which means how it grows, how water helps to grow farming, how small entrepreneurship helps for financial development, how Government schemes can be employed in an optimum manner and how the path of development unfolds in any given scenario was there to see! Also, how symbiosis between forests, people, water, animals and land is crucial was evident in the discussion. I met people who accepted, we are the reasons for the problems and we only can rectify them.

On the return journey, I had some time in the historic city of Burhanpur. Took a walk to the royal fort and Tapti river Rajghat. The city which was attacked once by Sambhahi Maharaj! The door of Deccan! The city where Mirza Raja Jaysingh was poisoned. In many ways with its minars and arches, the city resembles Aurangabad of Maharashtra. Beautiful riverfront of Tapti! And also the horse carts! These photos also can be seen on my handle. This was such an enriching experience.

सामान्यातल्या असामान्यांसोबत भेटी आणि सातपुड्यातली गावं

नमस्कार. नुकताच सातपुडा परिसरात व मेळघाटाजवळच्या परिसरात एका प्रोजेक्टच्या निमित्ताने लोकांसोबत संवाद करण्याचा योग आला. महाराष्ट्र व मध्य प्रदेशच्या सीमेलगत डोंगराळ प्रदेशातली ही गावं. एक बुलढाणा जिल्ह्यात जळगांव जामोद तालुक्यात तर दुसरं अमरावती जिल्ह्यात धारणी तालुक्यात. स्वतःच्या, गावाच्या व पंचक्रोशीतल्या गावांच्या विकासासाठी झटणाऱ्या तरुणांच्या कामाचं डॉक्युमेंटशन हा विषय होता. प्रेरणादायी भेटी झाल्या. *फार समोर येत नसलं तरी समाजात चांगलं कामही होत आहे,* ह्याची प्रचिती मिळाली. बाहेरून तांत्रिक मार्गदर्शन व विशेषज्ञांच्या मदतीमुळे स्थानिक तरुण कसे उभे राहतात, कसे आधी स्वतःला व नंतर गावाला उभं करतात ते पाहता आलं. 

त्याबरोबर सुविधा काहीच नाहीच, प्रचंड कष्ट व गैरसोयी. तरीही आनंदी व प्रसन्न असलेले लोक बघता आले! एका अर्थाने incredible India अनुभवता आला. ग्राम विकासाचं काम कसं केलं जातं, कसं वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारे ते वाढतं ते बघता आलं. शेतीसाठी पाणी, अर्थार्जनासाठी जोडधंदे, सरकारी योजनांचा जास्तीत जास्त वापर कसा करता येतो, उपलब्ध स्थितीत विकासाची वाट कशी घेता येते हे बघता आलं. पर्यावरण- जंगल, जल, जनावर, जमीन व जन असं परस्परांवर अवलंबून असलेलं सहजीवन समजून घेता आलं. त्याबरोबर आम्हीच समस्यांचे कारण आहोत व आम्हीच उपाय करू शकतो असं सांगणारे लोक भेटले.

सातपुड्यातला निसर्ग अवर्णनीय! तिथल्या वाटा, घाट रस्ते व डोंगर अप्रतिम! फोटोज व व्हिडिओज इथे बघता येतील. 

परतीच्या प्रवासात दुपारी बुऱ्हाणपूरमध्ये थोडा वेळ हाताशी होता. चालत चालत हे ऐतिहासिक शहर छान बघता आलं. संभाजी महाराजांनी औरंगजेबावर छापा घातलं होतं ते बऱ्हाणपूर! दख्खनचं द्वार बऱ्हाणपूर. मिर्झा राजांवर विषप्रयोग झाला ते बऱ्हाणपूर. शाही किल्ला छान आहे. औरंगाबादची आठवण करून देणाऱ्या कमानी आणि मिनार. तापी राजघाट अप्रतिम! पूर्वी असायचे तसे टांगे! तिथले फोटोजसुद्घा माझ्या हँडलवर बघता येतील. असा हा समृद्ध करणारा अनुभव होता.
