Venus disappearing behind Moon

Today evening on 14th September 2026, we can observe a wonderful hide and seek of Moon and Venus. These days Venus is close to Earth and it is shinning brilliantly as a crescent. It is just about 29% illuminated but very bright that it can be observed in daylight also. Yes. If we pin point at Venus, we immediately notice a tiny glow in blue sky. Today, by around 4:45 pm, Venus will come so close to the dark portion of the Moon and by around 5:00 pm, it will be obstructed by the Moon when observed from India. Then by around 6:15 pm, it will reappear from the illuminated portion of the Moon. Exact timing will depend on each location. Its disappearance and reappearance will be in daylight, but it can still be observed. With the reference to the Moon, Venus can easily be observed in daylight. If you have a binocular, you can enjoy it. Just take care to observe it from shadow/ avoid Sunlight. I will observe it and will try to post photos. Fingers crossed for the clouds.

चंद्रामागे लपणारा शुक्र 

आज संध्याकाळी- १४ सप्टेंबर २०२६ रोजी आपल्याला चंद्र व शुक्राचा लपंडाव बघता येणार आहे. सध्या शुक्र पृथ्वीच्या जवळ आहे व कोरीच्या रूपात अतिशय तेजस्वी दिसतो आहे. तो केवळ २९% प्रकाशित आहे पण अतिशय तेजस्वी आहे आणि त्यामुळे दिवसासुद्धा दिसू शकतो. होय! जर आपण बरोबर त्याच्याकडे बघितलं तर एक चमकता बिंदू निळ्या आकाशात दिसतो. आज संध्याकाळी साधारण ४:४५ वाजता शुक्र चंद्राच्या जवळ दिसेल आणि साधारण ५ वाजता तो चंद्राच्या अप्रकाशित भागामागे जाईल. साधारण ६:१५ वाजता तो चंद्राच्या प्रकाशित भागाच्या पलीकडून बाहेर येईल. ही घटना दिवसा घडत असली तरी बघता येईल. चंद्राच्या स्थानाच्या अनुषंगाने शुक्र सहजपणे दिवसा शोधता येईल. फक्त बघताना सावलीतून पाहावं/ सूर्यप्रकाश टाळावा. जर बायनॅक्युलर असेल तर खूप छान दृश्य दिसेल. मी निरीक्षण करून फोटोज पोस्ट करेन. ढग मध्ये येऊ नयेत ही इच्छा!
