Article about success story of Anjanvel Agro Tourism

Hello. My Milky-way photo is featured in an article published in the Indian Express. Anjanvel agro tourism, Mawal (near Lonavala) is a place where we conduct sky watching programme, camps for children and many more activities. It is a wonderful place owned by my friend Rahul Jagtap. Anjanvel in short means every moment spent well! This article has depicted its journey as a start up. How Rahul’s father Appa built this place, how inch by inch he converted this uneven and rocky place into a green zone with such a rich biodiversity! Do read this article. It is interesting to understand how Rahul’s father Appa took efforts in his rather retired life- how the villagers developed it. Today there is rich biodiversity – huge number of fireflies and diverse trees is a proof. Here one can also witness core of Sahyadri mountains, natural miracles such as giant river potholes, indigenous species of plants and flowers and many more. Not to forget the waterfall that is active these days and the enchanting scenery there!

Along with all this, homely environment with focus to educational and family tours. Local cuisine and culture can be experienced here. It provides livelihood to local people. All this makes it unique. And regarding astronomy, the sky there is just awesome. Here we can see the Milkyway clearly with our eyes, we can find innumerable stars and many clusters! Also meteors! It is always great to be at Anjanvel- be it the day or the night!

मावळच्या अंजनवेल कृषि पर्यटनाबद्दल लेख

नमस्कार. माझा आकाशगंगेचा फोटो इंडियन एक्स्प्रेसमधल्या लेखामध्ये आला आहे. मावळमधल्या अंजनवेलमध्ये आम्ही आकाश दर्शन सत्रे व मुलांचे उपक्रम घेत असतो. माझे मित्र राहुल जगताप ह्यांची ही अतिशय सुंदर जागा. Anjanvel in short means every moment spent well! ह्या लेखामध्ये एक स्टार्ट अप म्हणून अंजनवेल कसं घडलं ह्याचं छान वर्णन आलं आहे. राहुलचे बाबा- अप्पांनी कशा प्रकारे ह्या उतारावरच्या आणि खडकाळ जागेचा कायापालट घडवून तिचं रुपांतर आजच्या समृद्ध जैव विविधता असलेल्या ठिकाणामध्ये केलं हे वाचण्यासारखं आहे. हा लेख नक्की वाचा. राहुलच्या बाबांनी आयुष्यातून निवृत्त होण्याच्या टप्प्यावर कसे प्रयत्न केले- गावक-यांनी मिळून कशी ही जागा फुलवली हे जाणणं रंजक आहे. आज हे समृद्ध जैव विविधतेचं केंद्र आहे. तिथे आलेले शेकडो काजवे आणि वनस्पतींमधील विविधता त्याचा एक पुरावा आहे. इथे सह्याद्री पर्वतरांगेचा आतला परिसर बघता येतो. रांजणखळग्यांसारखं नैसर्गिक आश्चर्य बघता येतं. झाडांच्या आणि फुलांच्या कित्येक प्रजाती! आणि अर्थातच पावसाळ्यातला धबधबा आणि नजारा!

ह्या सर्वांबरोबर घरासारखं वातावरण आणि शैक्षणिक व फॅमिली टूअर्सला तिथे प्राधान्य दिलं‌ जातं. स्थानिक पदार्थ व स्थानिक संस्कृतीचा अनुभव घेता येतो. स्थानिक लोकांना तिथे रोजगार मिळतो. त्यामुळे अंजनवेल अगदी वेगळं ठिकाण आहे. आणि आकाश दर्शनाच्या संदर्भात, तिथलं आकाश तर अगदी अप्रतिम आहे. नुसत्या डोळ्यांनी आकाशगंगा दिसते. असंख्य तारे आणि कित्येक तारकागुच्छ दिसतात. अगदी उल्कासुद्धा! अंजनवेल नितांत सुंदर आहे- मग दिवस असो की रात्र!!
