Hello. Morning of 19th January. I had tea with Swami Sundar Chaitanyaji in serene campus of ICF, Piravom. Yesterday there was one workshop going in and many persons from Maharashtra participated in it! I again had long conversation with Swamiji. He shared his experiences, his village in Tamil Nadu, his public relations, RSS work and later on his association with Chinmaya Mission! He is so friendly and down to earth. No 'spiritual' ego at all! Finally I had to bid adieu to him and the ICF. Today I will cycle 110 kms. After crossing some distance, I will meet "him”! Henceforth, on this tour, “he” will accompany me almost every day!
Further the road is straight for some distance. It is not a national highway, but it is wide. It also has plenty of traffic. Slowly the coast is approaching! But weather seems to be changed! Suddenly it is very cloudy. It is drizzling also. The road continued through small suburbs. Before I reached Alapuzza, I had a massive bridge on the creek! So huge that I cannot just see the other shore! Vast sea, it seems! I almost feel that I am entering deep sea! As the road is so narrow, I cannot take proper photos! On the road, I also heard invitations were given for Bhagawat Saptaha! All surroundings looks very similar to Konkan- red soil and some houses with sharp bricks! Small boats in the creek! Coconut trees!
Here I am getting ground nut- jaggery sweet (chikki) in small shops! So good for me. I also came across many cycle shops. I got my break checked again. No damage has happened, the mechanic confirmed. I Alapuzza, there are many diversions on the highway. Here, I again reached the main highway towards Kanyakumari. The road is going so close to the sea, but still I am unable to see the sea! Its reason is that there are so many houses, shops and settlements! There is no empty space in fact! When I came much ahead and when I turned right for coastal road towards Amritapuri that I finally saw the open sea! Later on the road is going so close to one beach! Sheer vastness! Speechless views! Now the sky is also clear. Here, one person stopped me and took my brief interview in Hindi! Seeing Maharashtra on my T- shirt, many people come talking in Hindi!
But such great vastness! His majesty! His roar! The road is sometimes to close to the seashore that I got traces of tidal water! So vast steadiness of the sea after traveling on uphill and downhill roads! Just like stability of meditation one gets after experiencing turbulence of the mind!
Last leg of 30 kms before Amritapuri were slightly tough. Coastal humidity! And I did not find any hotel for breakfast/ lunch after completing 80- 90 kms. The coastal road towards Amritapuri is rather silent. Almost not there on the tourist map! Very few hotels. Mostly non- veg hotels. So I had to continue further. But “he” is there to accompany me. I continued slowly. I crossed many bridges on the creek! The sea saw me through till Amritapuri!
Till I reached the Ashram, there were no visible signs. Amrita University is located on the other side of the creek and the Ashram is here. I reached there at 3 pm. Completed 110 kms for the day. I called Shri. Ravi ji. He is basically from Goa. He is a Brahmacharin and stays here since many years. He cared for me in all aspects. He made registration and entrance formality easy for me. The lunch time was over, but still he brought meal for me! We had great conversation in Marathi. Then I rested for some time.
Amritapuri Ashram! Shri Amritanandmayi Ma! Amma! I did not know much about her. But Raviji told me that she is here only and I will get her Darshana. It is not difficult. I just had to wait for a while in a queue and then I meet her! I also saw how she blesses people, how gives Darshana and how she pours her affection. I experienced the same. Even elders are about to cry! When she was blessing me, she murmured in my ears! Such was her way to bless. I also got Praadam. I saw the Bhajana- Kirtana for some time. The Ashram also has a female elephant named Laxmi! There are many foreigners. Raviji told me that those who know Amma, they regard her as God.
Raviji introduced me to his fellow- Brahmacharis. I did not find anyone carrying any spacial ego of being Brahmachari. Everyone is friendly. People from all India are there in the Ashrama. In the evening, Raviji showed me entire the Ashram. He talked about who Amma was, what she has done, how this Ashram was started and how she continuously bless people. I felt curious to know more about her.
In the night, Raviji took me to the private beach of the Ashram! What an experience to be on the beach in the night! He is not clearly visible! But his roar, his presence and winds! Whoa! Spent some moments there! What a great experience! Thus completed the 8th day of the tour. I could stay and visit a very unique place! I could meet so many Swamijis, Brahmacharis and sadhakas. This will continue in the coming days also! "He" will accompany me almost everyday. One more about this day- Today was the day when Osho had left Earth.

नमस्कार. १९ जानेवारीची सकाळ. पिरावोमच्या आयसीएफ परिसरात सकाळी लवकर आवरून स्वामी सुंदर चैतन्यजींसोबत चहा घेतला. इथे काल एक कार्यशाळा सुरू होती आणि गंमत म्हणजे त्यातले बरेचसे लोक महाराष्ट्रीयन होते! स्वामीजींसोबत परत गप्पा झाल्या. त्यांचं तमिळ नाडूतलं गाव, लोक संपर्क, संघाचं काम आणि नंतर ते चिन्मय मिशनसोबत जोडले गेले तो अनुभव! अतिशय मनमिळावू. स्वामी असल्याचा कोणताच अहंकार नाही! अखेर निघायची वेळ झाल्यावर त्यांचा निरोप घेतला आणि निघालो! आजचा टप्पा ११० किलोमीटरचा आहे. आणि काही अंतर गेल्यावर "तो" भेटणार आहे! इथून पुढे जवळ जवळ प्रत्येक दिवशी तो सोबत असेल!
पिरावोममधून बाहेर येईपर्यंत थोडं अंतर कालच्या सारखा मोबाईल समोर ठेवून नकाशा लावला होता. मुख्य रस्त्यावर आल्यावर मोबाईल काढला. अनेक हॉटेल बघितल्यावर चहा- बिस्कीटासाठी एक हॉटेल ठीक वाटलं. इडली चटणीसुद्धा मिळाली. इथे पिण्याचं पाणी गरमच देतात. हॉटेलमध्ये नारायण गुरूंचा फोटो! मानस सरोवर मार्गावर धारचुलाच्या पुढे ज्यांचा आश्रम आहे ते नारायण गुरू मुळचे केरलमचे! हॉटेलवाल्यासोबत थोडं बोलणं झालं. मल्याळम कानावर पडताना खूपसं संस्कृतसारखं वाटतं!
पुढे काही अंतर रस्ता सरळ आहे. अगदी राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग नसला तरी मोठा आहे आणि वाहतुकसुद्धा खूप आहे. समुद्र किनारा हळु हळु जवळ येतोय! पण चक्क हवामानसुद्धा बदललं आहे. एकदम ढगांची दाटी झालीय! थोडे थेंब पडायला सुरूवात होते आहे. छोट्या छोट्या उपनगरांमधून रस्ता पुढे जातोय. आलापुळ्ळा (Alapuzza) च्या आधी एक प्रचंड मोठा खाडी पूल लागला! इतका विस्तीर्ण पूल! पलीकडे दुसरा किनाराच दिसत नाहीय! सगळा अथांग समुद्रच वाटतोय. आणि असं वाटतंय की, मी खोल समुद्रात जातोय का काय! पण रस्ता अगदी अरुंद असल्यामुळे निवांत थांबून फोटो घेता आले नाहीत. काय विलक्षण परिसर आहे! वाटेत एका ठिकाणी भागवत सप्ताहाचं आमंत्रण लाउड स्पीकरने दिलं जातंय! अगदी कोकणासारखा परिसर. लाल माती आणि कुठे कुठे कौलारू घरंसुद्धा! खाडीमध्ये होड्या! नारळाची झाडं!
इथल्या छोट्या हॉटेलमध्ये चिक्कीसुद्धा मिळते आहे. त्यामुळे माझी चांगली सोय होतेय. पुढे सायकलची दुकानंसुद्धा लागली. परत एकदा ब्रेक चेक करून घेतला. काहीच झालेलं नाहीय, मॅकेनिकने सांगितलं. आलापुळ्ळामध्ये हायवेची बरीच डायवर्जन्स आहेत. इथून थिरूवनंतपूरम- कन्याकुमारीचा महामार्ग परत समोर आला. रस्ता अगदी समुद्राजवळून जातोय आता, पण अजून मोठा "तो" दिसत नाहीय! कारण घरं- दुकानं- वस्ती इतकी जास्त आहे की, मोकळा परिसरच नाहीय! बरंच पुढे आल्यावर आणि मुख्य मार्ग सोडून अमृतापुरीकडे जाणारा किनारी रस्ता घेतल्यानंतर कुठे खुला समुद्र दिसला! नंतर मग एका ठिकाणी रस्त्याला लागून मस्त वाळुचा किनाराच आला! विराट दर्शन झालं! अहा हा! आकाशही आता मोकळं झालं आहे. तिथेच एकाने मला थांबवून हिंदीमध्ये माझी छोटी मुलाखत घेतली! अनेक जण टीशर्टवर महाराष्ट्र लिहीलेलं बघून हिंदीतच बोलत आहेत!
अथांग सागर! त्याची गर्जना! कुठे कुठे तर रस्ता इतका जवळून आहे की, लाटांचे तुषारही अंगावर येत आहेत! इतके डोंगर आणि चढ उतार पार केल्यावर मिळणारी समुद्राची अथांग स्थिरता! जणू मनाच्या सर्व विकारांचा अनुभव घेतल्यावर मिळणारी ध्यानाची समता!
अमृतापुरीला पोहचण्याच्या आधीचे तीस किलोमीटर थोडे अवघड गेले. एक तर समुद्रालगतची आर्द्रता. शिवाय मला वाटेमध्ये ८०- ९० किलोमीटर झाल्यावर जेवण किंवा ब्रेकफास्टचं हॉटेलच मिळालं नाही. अमृतापुरीकडे जाणारा किनारी रस्ता तसा खूप शांत. पर्यटनाच्या नकाशाच्या बाहेर असावा, इतका शांत! इथे हॉटेल्स अगदीच थोडे. त्यातले बह्वंशी नॉन व्हेजचे. त्यामुळे तसंच पुढे पुढे यावं लागलं. पण समुद्राचा सत्संग असल्यामुळे हळु हळु जात राहिलो. वाटेत अनेक छोट्या खाड्यांवरचे पूलही लागले! अमृतापुरीपर्यंत समुद्राने सोबत केली!
अमृतापुरी येईपर्यंत बाहेर काहीच खुणा दिसल्या नाहीत. अमृता विद्यापीठ खाडीच्या पलीकडे आहे. आणि इकडे आश्रम. मला आश्रमातच जायचं आहे. दुपारी ३ वाजता आश्रमात पोहचलो. आजचे ११० किमी पूर्ण झाले. पोहचल्यावर रवीजींना फोन केला. मूळचे गोव्याचे असलेले ब्रह्मचारी रवीजी अनेक वर्षांपासून इकडेच राहतात. त्यांनी माझी खूपच काळजी घेतली. नोंदणी- प्रवेश प्रक्रिया सोपी करून दिली. इतकंच नाही तर जेवणाची वेळ संपूनही त्यांनी माझ्यासाठी ताट आणून दिलं! मराठीत छान गप्पा सुरू झाल्या! नंतर थोडा वेळ आराम केला.
अमृतापुरी आश्रम! आणि माँ अमृतानंदमयी अम्मा! त्यांच्याबद्दल जास्त माहिती नव्हती. पण रवीजी म्हणाले की, त्या इथे आहेत आणि त्यांचं दर्शनही होईल. फार काही अवघड नव्हतं. थोडा वेळ रांगेत थांबून अम्मांचं दर्शन घेतलं! त्या लोकांना कसं दर्शन देतात, कसा आशीर्वाद देतात आणि जवळ घेतात हे बघितलं आणि मलाही तोच अनुभव मिळाला. अनेक वयाने मोठे असलेले लोकही रडल्यासारखे वाटत आहेत! मला जवळ घेऊन त्या कानात काही कुजबुजल्या! असं दर्शन झालं! प्रसादही मिळाला. बाकी तिथले भजन- कीर्तन थोडा वेळ बघितलं! चक्क आश्रमामध्ये लक्ष्मी नावाची हत्तीणही आहे! अनेक विदेशी लोक दिसले. रवीजी सांगत आहेत की, जे लोक अम्मांना ओळखतात, त्यांच्यासाठी त्या देवच आहेत.
रवीजींनी त्यांच्या सोबतच्या ब्रह्मचारींसोबत माझी ओळख करून दिली. कोणीच साधक असल्याचा काही विशेष भाव ठेवलेले वाटत नव्हते. सहजपणे बोलत होते. आश्रमात भारतभरातून लोक आलेले दिसले. संध्याकाळी रवीजींनी मला पूर्ण आश्रम फिरून दाखवला. अम्मा कोण होत्या, काय काय करत गेल्या, हा आश्रम कसा सुरू झाला, त्या लोकांना कसं सतत दर्शन देतात हे सांगितलं. त्यांच्याबद्दल खूप उत्सुकता निर्माण झाली.
रात्री रवीजींनी मला समोरच्या आश्रमाच्या खाजगी बीचवर नेलं! रात्रीच्या भर अंधारात बीचवर जाण्याचा अनुभव! अंधारात न दिसणारा तो! पण त्याची उपस्थिती, त्याची विलक्षण गाज आणि वारं! अहा हा! काही क्षण तिथे घालवले. खूप वेगळा अनुभव वाटला. आठवा दिवस पूर्ण झाला. एक खूप वेगळ्या ठिकाणी व वेगळ्या वातावरणात राहता आलं! इतके स्वामी, ब्रह्मचारी व साधकांसोबत राहता आलं! पुढच्या दिवसांमध्येही हा क्रम सुरू राहील! आणि आता दररोज सोबतीला "तो" असेल! आजच्या दिवसाबद्दल अजून एक- आज ओशो पुण्यतिथी होती!
