Experiment 46. Rising water

Take a bottle of glass. Take some water in one plate. Add any watercolour into it. Now, boil some water and fill the bottle. Now, empty the bottle. Keep it upside down on the plate. Observe what happens. Slowly you will see that water is rising in the inverted bottle. The colour will make it clear. As hot water was kept in the bottle, air in the bottle also got hot. When we put the bottle upside down, then the hot air lifts upwards and a sort of vacuum is created. Water rises to fill this up! Water has wonderful cohesive and adhesive properties. This experiment is shared by Mr. Kishor Borphale sir on his youtube channel Maha Shikshan. He has shared wonderful experiments there.

Activity 46. Observe sprouting

Firstly, discuss with elders. You or your neighbours will have some plants in the house. Observe the plants. Find one flowerpot that has some space. Now, with guidance from elders, you will seed a plant in this flowerpot. You can choose some plant which sprouts rapidly. For example, sunflower sprouts in two days. Groundnut also grows in a few days. You will sow the seed and water it as per requirement. You will observe it daily. Within 3-4 days, you will notice a sprout! Observe it carefully. Continue your observation for some days. Observing sprouts coming up is a great experience.

प्रयोग 46. चढणारं पाणी

एक काचेची बाटली घ्या. एका ताटलीत पाणी भरा. त्यामध्ये कोणताही वॉटरकलर टाका. आता, काचेच्या बाटलीमध्ये गरम पाणी घ्या. बाटली रिकामी करा. आताही बाटली उलटी करून ताटलीत ठेवा. काय होतं आहे, ह्याचं निरीक्षण करा. हळु हळु तुम्हांला दिसेल की, पाणी उलट्या बाटलीमध्ये चढत आहे. रंग असल्यामुळे हे स्पष्ट दिसेल. बाटलीमध्ये गरम पाणी ठेवल्यामुळे आतली हवाही तापते. बाटली उलटी केल्यावर गरम झालेली हवा वरच्या दिशेला जाते व आतमध्ये पोकळी (व्हॅक्युम) तयार होते. त्यामुळे ती पोकळी भरण्यासाठी पाणी वर चढतं! पाण्यामध्ये आश्चर्यकारक एकसंध राहण्याचे व चिकटण्याचे गुणधर्म आहेत. हा प्रयोग श्री. किशोर बोरफळे सरांनी त्यांच्या महा शिक्षण युट्युब चॅनलवर छान सांगितला आहे. त्यांनी तिथे खूप सुंदर प्रयोग सांगितले आहेत.

गंमत 46. बीज अंकुरे अंकुरे

पहिले मोठ्यांसोबत चर्चा करा. तुम्ही किंवा तुमच्या शेजा-यांकडे काही रोपं असतील. त्या रोपांचं निरीक्षण करा. ज्या कुंडीमध्ये थोडी जागा असेल अशी कुंडी शोधा. मोठ्यांच्या सांगण्यानुसार आता त्या कुंडीत तुम्हांला एक बी पेरायचं आहे. अगदी लवकर अंकुर येणारं बी तुम्ही निवडू शकता. उदाहरणार्थ, सूर्यफुलाच्या बीला दोन दिवसांमध्ये अंकुर येतो. शेंगदाण्यालाही लवकर अंकुर येतो. तुम्ही असं बी तिथे पेराल व गरजेनुसार पाणी द्याल. दररोज त्या कुंडीचं निरीक्षण करा. 3-4 दिवसांमध्ये तुम्हांला अंकुर आलेला दिसेल! लक्षपूर्वक त्याचं निरीक्षण करा. काही दिवस रोज हे निरीक्षण करा. बीला अंकुर येताना बघणं हा सुंदर अनुभव असतो.
