Experiment 22. Make your own magnet

It is easy to make your own magnet! Take a small iron rod. Rub it for a napkin for some minutes with force. Then get a small pin and take it near the rod. The pin will attach to the rod. Napkin has static electricity. When the rod is rubbed on the napkin, it gets magnetic property and it attracts the pin. This magnet works only for short time.

Activity 22. Hair getting straight

Many times we experience static electricity. Think a little and recall. Bring your hand near a plastic chair and see that hair on your hand is attracted. Even in a mosquito net, hair on head can be attracted. When hair is in contact with clothe, comb or wool, then they exchange electrons. Hair with similar charge repel each other and as a result then get straight and appear as attracted.

प्रयोग 22. चुंबक तयार करा

चुंबक बनवणं सोपं आहे. एक छोटा लोखंडी रॉड किंवा गज घ्या. त्याला काही मिनिटे नॅपकीनवर जोराने घासा. त्यानंतर त्याला बारीक टाचणीजवळ न्या. टाचणी गजाला चिकटेल. नॅपकीनमध्ये स्थितीज विद्युत असते. त्यामुळे नॅपकीनवर घासल्यानंतर रॉडमध्ये चुंबकत्व येतं व टाचणी त्याच्याकडे आकर्षित होते. हे चुंबकत्व थोडा वेळच टिकतं.

गंमत 22. खेचले जाणारे केस

स्थितीज विद्युतचा अनुभव आपल्याला अनेकदा येत असतो. थोडा विचार करा व आठवा. प्लास्टीकच्या खुर्चीच्या जवळ हात आणून पाहा की, हातावरचे केस खेचले जात आहेत का. मच्छरदाणीमध्येसुद्धा डोक्यावरचे केस खेचले जाऊ शकतात. जेव्हा केस कापडावर, कंगव्यावर किंवा लोकरीवर घासले जातात तेव्हा इलेक्ट्रॉन्सचं आदान प्रदान होतं. आणि समान प्रभार असलेले केस प्रतिकर्षणामुळे एकमेकांपासून लांब जायचा प्रयत्न करतात व त्यामुळे केस उभे राहिलेले किंवा खेचलेले दिसतात.
